Overview

Now in it’s 6th Generation, the original Kamleika stretch waterproof was first released in 2005 and rapidly attracted many fans, not to mention a few imitators.

Known for its unmatched next-to-skin comfort, freedom of movement and protection in harsh conditions; the Kamleika Smock has been specifically designed to the demands of the mountain runner.

Named after the garment worn by the Aleut people of the high Arctic on the shores of the Bearing Sea, though no longer constructed from the innards of sea otters; like the Aleuts, mountain runners require a waterproof and protective, yet lightweight and packable layer that is unrestrictive and moves with them.

The 5th generation of Kamleika introduced the tough Nylon face fabric whilst the 6th now includes a PFAS-free membrane and PFC-free DWR treatment.

This has allowed us to drastically reduce the environmental impact of the smock’s manufacture and use, no longer using the “forever chemical” that are incredibly harmful to the natural world but without compromising the performance of the smock in the harshest conditions.
